T20 Kills Test

Friday, July 10th, 2009

T20 popularity has increased to a great extent. It is the shortest version of Cricket as of now. Most of us have passion to watch cricket. We can get results within a short span of time. It is difficult to watch all the five days in the test cricket. But it is the actual form of cricket. Test cricket shows players responsibility and capability. Every player learns the game from a test match. It is easier for any batsman to score runs inT20 as they can play with same energy throughout 20 overs. But it is really hard to stand for a long time in the ground for scoring runs. Bowlers face the tight situation to bowl consistently during those five days. Player’s performance can be decided only from the test cricket.

The success of T20 cricket led to the introduction of IPL event that is recognized by the International Cricket Council. It is the real boost to the world of cricket. But on the other hand it is the greatest business deal in cricket. Many young cricket stars arise from this event.  The business increases to a large level as its turnover is really high. It boosts other businesses too. Nowadays people are keen in doing duties within shorter span of time. They are encouraging this shorter span of cricket because it is the time equal to that of watching a movie. Test cricket has to survive for a long period. We should accept the new forms of cricket but we should not eliminate the real soul.

LEFT HANDED STUNNER – RAFAEL NADAL

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

Rafael Nadal, the left handed star icon of tennis was born on 3rd June 1986 in Manacor. His entry into the world of tennis was awesome. He is naturally a right handed but he started to grow as a left hander. At the age of fifteen, he got his first ATP title in 2002. He was then adjudged as the Best Newcomer of the year in 2003, as he broke into the world’s top 100 singles players. He was the second youngest player to do so. He made his mark in the Wimbledon grand slam by becoming the youngest player to reach the 3rd round in debut. He played with greater aggression, style and passion to emerge as the youngest player to break into the top 10. He became the world number 5 by the year 2005.

He is such a superb player to watch that too especially in the clay court. He likes to dominate his opponents (who are star players) with ease at clay courts and nobody could stop him. The left hander has even made the best players like Roger, Roddick, etc to move out of the court. He is such a well talented player. He dominated because of his ability to cover half of the court in time along with the line returns and powerful strokes. The rivalry battle between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federrer is considered as one the world’s best entertaining moments. When there is match between these two, the number of people watching television has been increased all over the world. Hoping for some of the best matches ahead and also we can anticipate that he will become the best player as earlier as possible.

Ashes 2nd test

Saturday, May 2nd, 2009

I am very much fond of watching cricket. I knew about the Ashes clash right from my schooldays. I loved to watch the Ashes because of the factual battle between the two great teams. The battle had been continuing right from 1882 till today it has not lost its grace. Australia is currently holding the Ashes trophy.

England had won the ashes in 2005. I saw the second Ashes match in July 2009. It was really a tough game and it was nerve-racking as the result came on the fifth day. The openers laid the solid underpinning for the England. The other players capitalized the situation and struck to the basics with the game.

Australian players failed to lay the platform. Wickets fell at regular intervals. There were no steady partnerships in their first innings. England bowlers completely outplayed the Kangaroos in their first innings. As expected that England did not enforce Australia to follow on.

It is the right decision to set the target in a rain interrupted game. In the second innings also England openers laid the platform that enhanced the lead beyond 500. England bowlers again did their duty getting five wickets for just 125 runs. We knew that it is really hard to chase above 500 runs on the final day but anything may happen in cricket and that reflected in the innings played between Clarke and Haddin because at one point of time the English bowlers struggled to break the partnership.

But unfortunately Haddin lost his wicket. Flintoff claimed his five wicket haul at that venue. In the end England won the battle with 115 runs. The retirement of legends like Langer, McGrath, and Warne proved a costly loss to Australian cricket. It has been reflected in some of the recent Australian matches. It’s really hard to fulfill their gap. Australia has to show their team effort to get back into the series.
