Mr. Filipi Neri Rodrigues, water resources minister of Goa state gave shocking news of erosion threat on seven beaches of Goa, where many popular resorts are located. This alert will make most travelers disappointed. According to a paper statement given by the water source minister, 21 stretches over a length of 22 kilometers have been affected.

The seven beaches include the Coco beach, Tiracol beach, Candolim beach, Betalbatim beach and Arosim beach are under threat through his statement. Water resources minister also said that the Governor’s residence located on the hill slopes was also under threat. Previous government had also warned of steady erosion of beaches due to global warming, soil erosion, sand extraction and other environmental reasons.

If this threat becomes a reality then the state will find it difficult to survive as there will be reduction in the number of travelers to the state. This will reduce the income of the daily workers, who depend mainly on the tourism. Remedial measures are under process in a highly paced manner.
